The 2026 Season Recap

Playoff collapses have been forensically investigated. Waiver-wire crimes have been reviewed. A champion has been crowned. Here's how it all went down.

Champion: Eagle Fang

Our fellow Hockey Citizens,

The front office would like to formally apologize for the delay in this season recap. Between conducting a full forensic investigation into playoff collapses, reviewing waiver wire crimes, and trying to locate last year's champion (still missing, presumed eliminated), it's been a hectic few weeks.

Yes… Team not Josh Allen.

From champion… to a European spring break before the playoffs. A falloff so dramatic it's being studied by scientists and Bills fans alike.

But let's turn our attention to the present. The ice has melted. The stats have been overanalyzed. And your 2026 Champion is…

🏆 Your 2026 Champion 🏆

EAGLE FANG

Josh Davidson has done it! · 15-6

A 15-6 season, a playoff run with zero hesitation, and just enough confidence to make every lineup decision look obvious after it worked.

Eagle Fang — 2026 Champion

Meanwhile… standing on the other side of the story is Pasta My Prime (18-3) — a team that didn't just dominate the regular season… it terrorized it.

Let's put this in simple terms:

PF (Points For)
Total points you scored all season.
PF/G
Your weekly average — aka "how badly you ruin someone's Sunday."

Pasta My Prime: 3654.68 points (1st in league) · 174.0 PF/G (translation: call the authorities). Every week, opponents weren't playing a matchup — they were filing a missing persons report. And yet… second place.

Because the fantasy playoffs are not a meritocracy. They are a chaotic, unpredictable, emotionally damaging rollercoaster where your best player suddenly forgets how to skate.

Shoutout to B.O.B., who quietly grabbed third like someone who showed up late, ate all the good snacks, and left with a medal.

📊 Season Superlatives

The awards, where we pretend this is a well-run professional league and not chaos with spreadsheets.

Presidents Trophy · Best Regular Season

Pasta My Prime (18-3)

An all-time great regular season. Unfortunately, the playoffs responded with: "Cool story."

Most Points by a Team

Pasta My Prime · 3654.68

Runner-up: Raleigh IceCaps · 3362.93

Pasta My Prime scored like they had cheat codes. Sadly, the playoffs unplugged the console.

Jack Adams · Coach of the Year

Eagle Fang

Pressed all the right buttons. Pulled all the right strings. Probably stared at his lineup 47 times before lock and still acted like it was instinct.

Art Ross · Top Skater

Nathan MacKinnon · 509.52

Runner-up: Connor McDavid · 494.34

MacKinnon casually putting up video game numbers while the rest of the league tries to keep up like it's dial-up internet.

Norris Trophy · Top Defenseman

Evan Bouchard · 340.28

Runner-up: Zach Werenski · 297.67

Bouchard scored so much that forwards started asking him if he needed help up there. Perhaps Pasta My Prime's decision to decline that Svech trade was a smart move.

Vezina Trophy · Top Goalie

Andrei Vasilevskiy · 260.0

Runner-up: Logan Thompson · 249.8

Vasilevskiy stopped pucks, momentum, and several people's hopes and dreams.

Most Points Per Game · Skater

Nathan MacKinnon · 6.5

Runner-up: Nikita Kucherov · 6.3

Efficiency so high it should be studied by NASA.

Most Points Per Game · Goalie (200+ pts)

Ilya Sorokin · 4.5

Runner-up: Andrei Vasilevskiy · 4.6

Editor's note: Yes, Vasi technically edges this, but we're keeping things dramatic.

🏒 League Notes

District 5 Ducks (11-10)

A respectable season, but ultimately stuck in the dreaded "good but not dangerous" zone. The fantasy equivalent of finishing your vegetables but no dessert.

Raleigh IceCaps

Sneaky strong points for (3362.93) but couldn't translate it into standings. A classic case of "points don't hug you back."

Chris's Calculated Team (3-18)

The calculations may need… recalibrating.

🧊 Final Thoughts

This season had everything:

  • A dominant regular season machine (Pasta My Prime)
  • A cold-blooded playoff assassin (Eagle Fang)
  • A defending champion who vanished like a WiFi signal in a basement (Team not Josh Allen)

In closing, congratulations once again to Eagle Fang, who proved that championships are not won on paper — they are won through grit, timing, and possibly just enough luck to ruin a family member's season.

To Pasta My Prime: hang the Presidents Trophy banner high. Just… maybe not directly across from Eagle Fang at the next family event.

To the rest of you: heal up, regroup, and start preparing your drafts, excuses, and emotionally questionable lineup decisions for next season.

Until next season!
